10-Point Driving Survival Kit Checklist and Pre-Booking Services
Many people set goals with each new year. One of the more popular is the resolution to get more organized. Within a few weeks these resolutions are often left by the wayside. Neglecting routine auto maintenance can lead to more serious problems, including break downs. No one wants to break down in the middle of the winter when weather conditions can be harsh. However, by following a consistent maintenance schedule and being prepared in the event of a problem, you can maximize the safety and reliability of your vehicle.
10-Point Winter Driving Checklist
“Most people don’t think about organizing and preparing their vehicle for bad weather driving,” states Dan O’Connor, Service Advisor at Shade Tree Garage. “This is especially important in the winter, when weather conditions can make driving more difficult. That’s why we recommend everyone go through this 10-Point Winter Driving Checklist to equip their vehicle with a Survival Kit.” This simple organizational tip can be the difference that helps you get through an emergency situation.
The 10-Point Winter Driving Checklist:
· Flashlight with batteries
· Blankets
· Booster cables
· Ice Scraper
· Small bag of abrasive material, like sand or cat litter
· Cloth or roll of paper towels
· Small shovel
· Cell phone
· Can of de-icer
· Warning device, like flares or a reflective triangle
We also recommend everyone have their vehicle checked to make sure it’s in good running order. At a minimum, you should have us check of the ignition, brakes, wiring, hoses, fan belts, battery, tires and antifreeze levels.

With everyone’s busy schedules, it becomes easy to neglect routine maintenance services. That’s why, several years ago, we decided to do something to help our customers find more success with keeping to a schedule for car maintenance. We provide a pre-booking service to save customers time, money, and the headache of having to remember when their car is due for service.
Our pre-booking service for oil changes is designed so customers don’t have to worry about scheduling maintenance. We even text or call you the day before to confirm your appointment. Remember, preventive maintenance is always the key to maintaining a safe and reliable vehicle.
